How can I consult UNOG, UNCTAD, OCHA, UN ECE, and OHCHR records during the renovation of the Palais des Nations ?
In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly approved the Strategic Heritage Plan (SHP) to renovate the Palais des Nations. The works began in autumn 2020 and are due to be completed in 2024.
Since June 2021, with the closure of buildings for renovation works, we have only been granted limited access to the records repositories.
Researchers who wish to consult UNOG, UNCTAD, OCHA, UN ECE, and OHCHR records have to send their requests for retrieval of records by 12.00 noon on Tuesdays.
Records will be available for consultation in the United Nations Archives at Geneva Reading Room as of Wednesday afternoons only.
