How do I get to the Library & Archives temporary spaces?

As of 22 April 2024, the Library & Archives building (B Building) will be temporarily closed. We will welcome researchers in other public spaces, upon appointment. Please contact us at ask.unog.ch to reserve a seat at least 2 working days ahead of your visit.


Follow the steps below to get to the Salon des Délégués (Library reading room) or to Room VI (Archives reading room). Both rooms are located in the A-C area of the Palais des Nations.

Getting to the Palais des Nations

Enter the Palais des Nations at Pregny Pavilion. Go through security screening.

 

Getting to the Library & Archives

  1. From Pregny Pavilion, follow the blue dotted line until the Door A11.

  2. Swipe your badge to open the door (left).

  3. Enter the building, follow the corridor on your left until you see an elevator and a staircase (left).

  4. Take the staircase, or use the elevator to go to the 3rd floor (one floor up).

  5. Follow the corridor in front of you. You will find our temporary spaces on the right side.

  6. Go to the "Salon des délégués" if you booked a seat with the Library, or to "Room VI" if you booked a seat with the Archives.

Our librarians and archivists are available onsite.

Public transport

 

Access from Cornavin railway station:

- Bus lines : 8, 20, 60, 61 (“Appia” stop)

- Tramway 15 (“Nations” stop), then a 5 minutes’ walk to Pregny Pavilion

Access from Cointrin airport:

- Bus line: 5 (“Nations” stop) then a 5 minutes’ walk to Pregny Pavilion.

Other bus lines with stop at “Nations”: 8, 11, 20, 22, 60 and 61.  

Reminder for all external users

In order to get to the Library & Archives, you must first request access at https://ask.unog.ch and indicate which materials you need to consult. You must have valid identification (passport, or identity card). Students and researchers should provide a valid student card or a letter of recommendation from their university or research institute.
